The research interests of Dr. Yuzhong Zhang’s group include greenhouse gas emissions, air pollution, climate change, and their interactions with energy and agriculture production and ecosystems. Their research involves satellite methane observation analysis, atmospheric chemistry modeling, and the interactions between air pollution and climate change through human activities and ecosystems.

Job Description

Position: Postdoctoral Fellow (1 opening)

Requirements:

·Have obtained or expect to obtain the PhD degree shortly. Related disciplines include but are not limited to atmospheric sciences, remote sensing, environmental science and engineering, data science, or related disciplines.

·Full capability of conducting data analysis research and communicating research results in peer-reviewed publication and conferences. Self-motived in research and can perform efficiently both independently and in team. Experience with atmospheric chemical transport model is preferred.

·The candidate is expected to conduct inverse analyses of a comprehensive dataset of both ground and satellite methane observations, and evaluate the inversion results in comparison with our collaborators at Nanjing University who will run TM5-4DVAR with identical input dataset. The candidate will work within a high-performing international team with expertise in atmospheric observations, remote sensing, inventory studies, and inverse modeling to improve our understanding of methane emissions on global and regional scales.

Other requirements:

Have obtained or about to obtain a Ph.D. degree, aged under 35.

Compensation and Benefits

The research team offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. Applications for relevant projects and programs will be encouraged and supported.

For post-doc(s) who selected for China Postdoctoral Science Foundation or Advanced Programs of Zhejiang Province will be entitled to receive the same amount funds from the Hangzhou government.

For post-doc(s) who full-time work in Hangzhou after completing their post-doc research will be eligible for applying allowance of 400,000RMB from the Hangzhou government.
