In the same year, he went to the MD Anderson Cancer Center in the United States to engage in postdoctoral research. He became an assistant professor in 1997, tenure-track associate professor in 2003, professor in 2009. He has been a professor and chief researcher at the Institute of Life Sciences of Zhejiang University in 2020.

Title:Transcription Reprogramming and Genome instability

Abstract:

Our recent studies suggest that rapid and extensive transcription reprogramming poses a major threat to genome stability. The link between differentiation and DNA damage accumulation reveals a novel mechanism of genome scarring and an endogenous cause of malignancies. Dissecting this connection is important to understand ageing and explore new cancer therapies.
