"We expect that WIAS will always head in the right direction, and grow up as a Chinese-style world-leading research institute in near future."

Biography

Zhi Ren, born in 1982 in Hubei, received his bachelor degree in science and doctoral degree in condensed matter physics in 2004 and 2009, respectively. From 2009 to 2017, he conducted postdoctoral research in Osaka University and Geneva University successively. In early 2017, he joined the Zhejiang Westlake Institute for Advanced Study (predecessor of Westlake University). He has published 74 papers, with total citations over 5300 times and an Hirsch h-index of 30. He is currently a PI in the School of Science, and his research interest mainly focuses on the synthesis and characterization of new solid-state materials.
