Introduction of the Lab/ Research Field

The Qicheng Zhang Lab is the lab of nanostructures for electronics and electromechanics. We are interested in linking structures with functions, especially in ways they haven’t connected before, and developing novel devices from the discoveries. One of our current topics is to develop integrated phononic systems working at microwave frequency based on topological physics. This system will find applications in small-footprint integrated communication systems, quantum acoustics, etc. We approach this topic with two primary directions: 1. developing topological phononic devices and circuits using existing materials (like AlN); 2. developing new materials for novel phononic phenomena and functions.

We are a highly interdisciplinary lab. Other topics, like electronic or electromechanical devices employing nanostructures (like biosensors), are also interesting.

Job Description

Position: Postdoctoral Fellow (1 or 2)

Requirements:

1) Having obtained or about to get a Ph.D. degree.

2) Aged under 35.

3) With experiences in fields including, but not limited to, electronic and information engineering, physics, materials science and engineering, mechanical engineering, etc.

4) Motivated to research, enjoy understanding new concepts, and explore new technology.

Compensation and Benefits

The research team offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. Applications for relevant projects and programs will be encouraged and supported.

Postdoc(s) selected for China Postdoctoral Science Foundation or Zhejiang Province Selected Funding for Postdoctoral Research Projects will be entitled to further receive a supporting fund of the same amount from the Hangzhou municipal government.

Postdoc(s) who work in Hangzhou on a full-time basis after completing their postdoctoral research will be eligible for applying an allowance of 400,000RMB from the Hangzhou municipal government.
